Microsoft Explorer Mini Mouse Review

I bought the explorer mouse a few weeks ago for £30. I was looking for a mouse that would track on my sofa's surface which proved too much for my other Logitech laptop mouse to take. I had to use a mouse mat on the sofa! I got fed up of it so I began looking into better tracking mouse but still with the small size and portability of a laptop mouse. The Explorer Mouse was a perfect solution to this problem. In this review to you the Pros and Cons of this mouse and an overall out of 10 mark.

Pros:

The mouse's tracking is excellent. It tracks on fabrics, carpet varnished wood surfaces, rough grain wood surfaces the glossy surface of the Dell Inspiron 1545 concrete,the transparent plastic case it was packaged in and even some types of glass!
The mouse also fits very well in the hand. Almost as good as a full size mouse.
The scroll wheel is very smooth and also has the functionality of left and right tilt for horizontal scrolling.
There are 2 programmable buttons on the left hand side of the mouse. These are programmable through the Microsoft Mouse software included in the box. These buttons can be programmed to do almost anything. You can even assign keyboard macros to them if you wish through the software. I personally just use them for back and forward while web browsing.
The mouse has a really cool look to it. It's curvy and it has the feature every geek wants from everything they own: IT GLOWS!
The snap in transceiver is great, its small and the computer recognizes the mouse almost immediately after it is plugged in. Another cool feature is that when the transceiver is snapped into the bottom, it powers off the mouse! The snap in tranceiver is also a cool little feature as it means you can't loose it as it is always either plugged into your computer or in the bottom of the mouse.
My last pro is the battery life. It doesn't run out in a day like some wireless mice and Microsoft say it can last over 6 months! I haven't had a chance to test this as I have only had it for a week.The little battery indicator is another cool feature.

Cons:

Unfortunately there is no way to turn off the mouse without putting the transceiver in or pulling the battery out. This means that this mouse wouldn't be ideal for use with a desktop.
The horizontal tilt scrolling also doesn't have grip so u sometimes find yourself trying to scroll and your finger slips over the wheel but you get used to it.
My last con is that the transceiver, when snapped in does not fit flush with the bottom of the mouse which can be annoying.

Altogether it is a very good mouse for using with a laptop. It could also be a good low-end gaming mouse with the option of macro keys.

iPhone 3G

iPhone 3G
Apple have released the new 3G iPhone. It was announced on the 11th of June and may come with pay as you go. You can get the iPhone free on a £45 or £75 contract or for £99 on the £30 or £35.

Features
It has built in GPS and obviously 3G connectivity. This makes browsing almost 3 times faster than EDGE. The iPhone has a plastic back with solid metal buttons and will also come in a white colour. Sadly Apple haven't upgraded the 2.oMP camera. It now has a flush 3.5mm headphone jack so you can use whichever headphones you like.

Will I Be Getting One?
I may get the pay as you go one but am still anxious as to how much that one will cost.

Macbook Replacer!!

Don't think I'm gonna get a MacBook any more as I might be getting an Xbox 360 Elite. So i have been lookingon "da interwebz" for a cheap, lightweight sub-notebook (small laptop). I found the Asus Eee PC. It comes with Linux which I have always wanted to try out. Especially the linux distro Ubuntu. So thats all the real news I have. I'll maybe have something special next week! Please subscribe to my posts with Atom. There is a link to click near the bottom of the blog.

I'll embed a hands on of the Eee Pc Here! The guys voice is hard to understand but oh well.

New iMacs

Apple have just released a new set of iMacs!!!

There are no real changes to the design (I don't think...) But now you can get it with a 3.06ghz Intel Core 2 duo processor. The top of the range iMac costs £1,389.00 (£1,182.13 ex VAT). The cheapest doesn't cost any more than the old one @ £799.00 (£680.00 ex VAT). This I think is an ideal computer if you want to switch from PC and you want a desktop. If you would like a laptop I would recommend the Macbook.
